M'Arch Thesis
Re-Designing Urban Dwellings of Ethiopia was the main thesis of my M’Arch Masters for Architecture. The response centered around problem solving for urban density and overpopulation in the inner city. Featuring 6 Typologies, each would cater to the needs of varied family units and challenge the current method of urban expansion, a “virgin territory” approach to slums as clearing much of the city takes place to make way for failing condominium parks. The architecture would ultimately harness the unique cultural method of trade and empower the functioning local economy while providing dignified shelter.
